ABOUT ME
I’m a Korean-Canadian-American returning after being raised and educated in the West. It wasn’t a quest to find myself or my roots, although that’s been a nice side-effect. I came here as stage 1 of a very early retirement, with hopes of making it to other parts of Asia. Of course the pandemic changed all that so I’ve decided to embrace the opportunity and discover as much as I can about the land of my birth. Mainly, I’m eating my way through the neighborhood. But living here as a “kyopo,” as native Koreans like to call us, or “foreigner,” has its distinct challenges. I’m writing this blog in the hopes of helping other English speakers who travel here (post vaccine) or want to try living here.
